Terms of use
The short, honest version. Last updated July 22, 2026.
The tools & estimates
The tools, estimates, and figures on this site are for discussion and education only — they are not professional, financial, investment, tax, accounting, legal, or engineering advice, and using them creates no advisory or fiduciary relationship. For those, consult a licensed professional (an accountant, financial advisor, or attorney). The tools use benchmark assumptions and your inputs; your real numbers will differ, and decisions are yours to make.
The demo
The signed-in platform runs on synthetic SANDBOX data for illustration only. Nothing in it represents a real client or a guaranteed result.
Engagements
Any actual work is governed by a separate written agreement (an MSA / SOW). Where that agreement and these terms conflict, the agreement controls.
Intellectual property
The site, its text, and its code are owned by Backporch (Tanner Brown). You're welcome to read and share it; please don't copy it wholesale or pass it off as your own. Ownership of client deliverables is set by the engagement.
Acceptable use
Don't attack, scrape abusively, or attempt to breach the site or the demo. The demo credentials are for evaluation, not production use.
No warranty & liability
The site is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Backporch isn't liable for losses arising from use of the site or its estimates.
Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA. Questions: hello@backporch.studio.
